Also known as: Antarctic Krill Oil, Phospholipid Omega-3
Krill oil provides EPA and DHA bound to phospholipids, offering superior bioavailability compared to standard fish oil. It also contains the antioxidant astaxanthin, which protects the oil from oxidation.
Krill oil is extracted from Antarctic krill (Euphausia superba), small crustaceans at the base of the ocean food chain. Its omega-3 fatty acids are primarily bound to phospholipids rather than triglycerides, which may enhance cellular uptake and bioavailability. Clinical studies suggest that lower doses of krill oil can achieve similar omega-3 index increases compared to fish oil. The naturally occurring astaxanthin provides antioxidant protection to the oil and additional health benefits. Krill oil has been studied for cardiovascular health, joint comfort, PMS symptom relief, and lipid management.
Phospholipid-bound EPA/DHA in krill oil is absorbed more efficiently into cell membranes, achieving comparable omega-3 index increases at lower doses than fish oil.
Krill oil supplementation has been shown to reduce LDL cholesterol and triglycerides while increasing HDL cholesterol.
With a meal

Split into 2 doses with meals
Higher doses used in clinical trials for significant triglyceride reduction.
